Box Office Battle: 'Wreck-It Ralph' seen knocking out 'Beasts,' 'Creed'

DISNEY EXPECTED TO WIN AGAIN: This Thanksgiving weekend's major release is Disney's (DIS) animated film "Ralph Breaks the Internet," a sequel to 2012's "Wreck-It Ralph." The film is expected to win the holiday weekend at the domestic box office with a five-day weekend forecast of $71.8M-$75M. Assuming "Ralph" wins the weekend, Disney will own the Thanksgiving holiday period for the twelfth time since 1982, according to Deadline.

ANOTHER SEQUEL IN SECOND: Expected to come in second is MGM's boxing flick "Creed II," which is seen to gross $44M-$54M domestically in its opening weekend. AT&T (T) subsidiary Warner Bros' "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald," which achieved the top spot at the box office last weekend, is expected to come in third over Thanksgiving weekend with a domestic gross of about $41M.

REST OF THE TOP FIVE: Meanwhile, Universal's (CMCSA) Christmas movie "Dr. Seuss' The Grinch" and 21st Century Fox's (FOXA) "Bohemian Rhapsody" are expected to round out the long weekend's top five, with an anticipated domestic gross of $33M and $16.5M, respectively. Other companies in filmmaking include Viacom (VIAB), Sony (SNE), and Lionsgate (LGF.A), whose new film "Robin Hood" also rolls out this weekend.
